Webisode: Mezcal Cocktail
I'm so happy to be back on the blog with a new handful of cozy new webisodes! For the first installment of this new lot, I bring you a Mezcal Cocktail, originating from a restaurant I love in Mexico City called Contramar. This is a ridiculously chic place, where locals go for long lunches on Friday afternoons. After tasting this delicious drink on my last visit to the city I knew I had to recreate it at home. Mezcal is great - are you familiar? It's smokey, which I love, and it pairs well with citrus and a little heat. Watch for more...
Citrus Mezcal Cocktail
3 oz Mezcal
2 oranges, juiced
2 limes, juiced
Combine the first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake till combined and chilled.
Place about a tablespoon of the chili powder and sea salt on a plate. Cut a lime into segments and run it around your glasses. Now twist the top of each glass around in the chili salt mixture.
Divide the mixture evenly in the glasses and serve with an ice cube.
