Sgroppino: Inspired by Batali

Last Sunday I was drinking my morning coffee and reading the New York Times, when I stumbled upon this:

One week later, some friends and I gathered to blend up the unlikely combo of ice cold vodka, lemon gelato, prosseco and ice. So delicious....and addictive...and really really strong!

Served with a light italian meal of risotto and a tomato salad (all tomatos and basil direct from Holly's farm).

What did you cook this weekend?!

It looks delicious! I'll have to make the cocktail before it starts getting cold here in Portland.

Wow, that cocktail has some of my favorite ingredients-- I love the idea of lemon with prosecco...can't wait to try it. xx

I love the idea of serving a cocktail as dessert. And what gorgeous tomatoes!

After your post about blue corn pancakes I could not get the thought out of my head so I made them for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday: http://paperdollparade.blogspot.de/2012/09/pancakes-that-are-blue.html#
So, so good.

Love it! We were in LA this weekend (so hot!) and hosted a party catered by Animal Resto. Made me think of you and Alex and our visit there almost a year ago.

the drink looks incredibly inviting, and so does the food. I had mushroom, fresh from the wood, this weekend. and a potatoe salad with haricot verts, walnuts and yoghurt dressing. it was a good weekend. have a wonderful week!

That looks so lovely. I have never made risotto before, and keep getting tempted to try it.

This weekend was all football at our house - bacon wrapped sirloin, red potatoes, and salad were on the menu. :)

found your blog through ciao domenica - love it and look forward to following. I read the same aperitivo recipe you posted and wanted to try it. I posted recently another Italian aperitivo found in the North called a Pirlo which is delicious also. And I too love tomato and mozzarella, with basil as well.
