What are you reading? I just finished
Wild by Cheryl Strayed (the next
Eating Our Words guest!) and
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell and they were both fantastic reads. I would love to hear what books you are excited about!
Side note, I am obsessed with this photo of
Nigella Lawson in her library. It's been floating around the blogosphere and I snatched this image from
LookTV's Facebook Page. How warm and cozy and elegant? Love.

oooh, that bookcase! i read all non-fiction. i'm about to start "quiet: the power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking" and very excited for it! i just breezed through "the gifts of imperfection" by brene brown which really came to me at the right moment in my life.
Ah, I love Malcolm Gladwell! And this photo is amazing. I just picked up Colette's "Break of Day" after reading your mom's post about it. :) I'm also excited about a book I ordered today - "Eleven Kinds of Loneliness" by Richard Yates. Excited to read, yes, but the cover is super awesome. Sometimes its OK to judge a book by its cover!
I want a home with a cozy library some day :)
Currently reading Boomerang by Michael Lewis. About the collapse of the European economies. Such a good writer, I can't think of anyone who writes about finance and economy-related issues with so much humour and intelligence.
This is such a lovely picture. Books are so important and personal in a home. I would love to have a library just like that!
I just read and completely adored An Everlasting Meal by Tamar Adler. You know it's a good book when you have to buy it after you've read the library's copy!
Also, and this may only be interesting to other pregnant ladies, I just devoured Great With Child by Beth Ann Fennelly. Amazing. A must-read if you're expecting!!
Re-reading Jane Austen at the moment, coincidentally with your mom's post. When my life is chaotic, which it is at the moment (in a good way) - I go back to familiar and cozy. Love the photo, and I'll remember the books for another time.
I'm just starting Arcadia by Lauren Groff, but I was actually thinking about reading Heartburn after watching one of your little videos! I was curious about what you thought about the movie vs. the book? I love Meryl so feel like it's hard to go wrong with her, but had a strong suspicion that this was one of those cases where the book is much better.
I also read Wild and really liked it. Cheryl Strayed just did a book tour with my writing mentor Pam Houston (whose new book, Contents May Have Shifted, I'm pretty much an evangelist for) so I've been hearing how great she is in real life too. :-)
I'm just finishing up Role Models by John Waters... definitely for fans only! But I'm excited to read Dick Hebdige's Subculture: The Meaning of Style next - it's a social history of postwar British youth subcultures, tracing the roots of punk all the way back to the late 40s (I'm way into Fashion Theory, thinking about getting my Master's in it)!
duuuuuuude. I just read the best book: Birds of a Lesser Paradise. Totally great. Now onto Swann's Way... wonder who has me reading that??
I am currently in the middle of Brida by Paulo Coelho, but very excited to start with Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.

Books books lovely books... I am currently 'sitting on' Anatomy and Physiology books - endless read ;)
Ditched Jane Austen (for the moment, as I know the books line by line) and started Wild. Can't put it down.
Her writing is so terrific ~ so raw and real. Read way too late into the night last night. Thanks for the recommendation and would love to come to Eating Our Words and hear her. Can you let me know?
STEVE JOBS, NOODZ.
after jobs i'm going to finally read the lacuna by barbara kingsolver, then i'm on to wild! ; )
i love this photo so much.
xo
This library looks like heaven! I am finally starting This Side of Paradise.
Right now reading "Pigs in Heaven" by Barbara Kingsolver. She really knows how to write about strong women!
love richard yates, anything and all of it! loved the jobs bio... it even made me like bill gates! i was at book expo america two weeks ago and i have a stack of new reads! kind of like in the photograph only not quite as elegant...
That's so funny- I just started reading "Wild"! I also just finished "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie. Great book- I highly recommend it. :)
Love all these recommendations! Thanks everyone!
