Anniversary Weaving

IMG_7628

Happy Friday! What a week! Continuing along with my travel-filled two monthes, Alex and I went to Santa Fe, New Mexico to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. I found Santa Fe to be one of those magical places that seems custom made for me. Highlights included a tour of Giorgia O'Keeffe's home, an afternoon spent at the Japanese-style spa Ten Thousand Waves and a trip through the town of Chimayo, famous for its weaving studios. I am working on a more complete Sante Fe guide (and putting the finishing touches on Mexico City!) but in the meantime, I wanted to share pictures from a small weaving I made during the trip. If felt meditative to work on this every morning before we started our day and kind of romantic to think of it as commemorating our first wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year since THIS happened.

Beautiful - I love the way the chunky thick yarn bubbles out almost like a cloud.
