This past weekend marked the sixth anniversary of Taylor De Cordoba and we celebrated with an opening reception for one of the gallery's original artists Charlene Liu. Her new show Everywhere Close to Me is one of my favorite bodies of work we have ever exhibited. Here is a sneak peak of Liu's textural collages, made with her handmade paper, pigmented pulp, acrylic and watercolor.

Alex and me at Taylor De Cordoba grand opening night, April 15, 2006. Don't we look so cute and innocent?

Such pretty stuff! Do you have any suggestions about hanging art above the bed? Do you do it? I'm always so worried about earth quakes...

@anne zimmerman: I am strongly against hanging art above the bed! I prefer to hang amazing textiles. see this company for some inspiration: http://www.kneelandco.com/

Congratulations on the 6th anniversary! I love the art, especially the second to last piece. I'm usually not drawn to yellow but lately it's capturing me. And yay! The artist lives in my hometown and teaches at my alma mater.

Seems like a good time to ask if you've ever done a post or interview on the daily happenings at the gallery. Just something that I'd be interested in seeing. :)
