Good Morning Mexico

IMG_8798

I ran into my friend Clare Vivier at an art opening on Saturday night, who presented me with news that would change the course of my weekend for the better. "Have you heard about Cacao Mexicatessen in Eagle Rock? Kathryn Bentley told me that they have the best Mexican Hot Chocolate and Blue Corn Pancakes." No I had not heard of it. What is this place? Why had I not heard of it. I want.

So, I'm sure you know where this story is heading. Sunday morning consisted of the drive, the discovery and the most delicious Mexican breakfast I've had stateside. Like Kathryn, I highly recommend the pancakes and the warm chocolate cinnamon drink. After the meal, we walked through the residential neighborhood, stopping to smell the blooming jasmine and fantasizing about our next trip to Mexico.
